Unique and delicious, explore the world of Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine with contemporary sharing plates at Ayllu in Paddington.
Located next to the canal in Paddington Basin, the restaurant is gorgeous with floral displays, huge windows and spacious waterside terrace.
The cocktail menu may be small but it has the perfect mix of classic drinks such as a Pisco Sour and Mezcal Negroni along with more unique concoctions including the Madame Dzin with rum, mango, rose and ginger beer or the Chilli Billi with Tequila, Cointreau, passion fruit, chilli and bitters.
Start your meal Peruvian style by sharing the Ceviche Nikkei with tuna, avocado, Nikkei tigers’ milk and sesame seeds or dipping Yucas Bravas into roccoto sauce.
Crispy and delicious, the Salmon Tacos were addictive served with mango, avocado, cancha and poke dressing.
Bring on the fusion with some sushi and tuck into the Uramaki Prawn made with tempura prawn, avocado, tempura flakes and tare sauce or the Ceviche Roll with white fish, avocado, sweet potato, tigers’ milk mayo, aji panca, onion, coriander and cancha.
Our favourite dish of all was the Yellowtail Tiradito, beautifully presented with truffle puree, pickled cucumber and truffle ponz.
